Aim to impart knowledge, skills and ethics for resolving issues related to researching, designing, creating, operating, optimizing and maintaining machinery’s systems in Mechanical Engineering, as well as being capable of delivering the needs that meet the demands of socio-economic development of Vietnam.
1.2 Program objectives, PO
Mechanical Engineering program will equip students with the specific objectives (PO), as follows:
PO1: Being able to master and apply general knowledge, basic knowledge of engineering, and specialized knowledge Mechanical Engineering.
PO2: Being able to technically reason, analysis, and evaluate skills; at the same time can manage technology, design, manufacture, install, operate, build maintenance procedures, and mechanical systems.
PO3: Being able to do research, knowledge discovery, teamwork, communication, and international integration skills.
PO4: Having students possess professional ethics, social responsibility, an attitude to respect the law, the ability to grasp the trends of society, and a life-learning habit.
2. Output Standard
In addition to the requirement of work ethics, the attitude to comply with labor safety, the qualification of political theory, the knowledge of nation defense and security according to the current regulation, and being qualified in using IT issued by Ministry of Information and Communication, students who graduates from Mechanical Engineering are required to comprehend the minimum competence as follows:
2.1 Knowledge
Requirements about knowledge: possessing a deep understanding of theory in the field of training; having solid skills to solve complicated tasks, knowledge about fundamental principles, laws of nature, and society in the field of training, and being able to develop new ideas for further studying; having knowledge about management, administration, law and environment protection related to the field of training.
Based on the minimum requirements of knowledge that a student needs to obtain after graduating, Mechanical Engineering program particulates the knowledge into several output standards (PLOs) which are divided into two parts:
2.1.1 General knowledge
PLO1: Applying basic knowledge of natural and social sciences in mechanical engineering.
PLO2: Being able to collect data and analyze the impact factors.
2.1.2 Professional knowledge
PLO3: Possessing knowledge of the entire process, machine and equipment for the production of machine parts, and the industrial and agricultural production industries.
PLO4: Possessing knowledge about the structure and working principle of machines and equipment in the field of mechanical engineering and agriculture.
PLO5: Knowing how to maintain, troubleshoot causes of damage in machines and mechanical equipment.
2.2 Skills
2.2.1 Common Skills
PLO6: Mastery of English and Information Technology (IT) in studying, working and doing research.
PLO7: Being able to work independently or as a team, present professional issues convincingly and scientifically.
2.2.2 Professional Skills
PLO8: Designing, creating, and assembling mechanical equipment, systems in production lines, and mechanization in production.
PLO9: Operating, maintaining, and exploiting mechanical systems in the industry.
PLO10: Planning product development projects; participating in organizing, operating and directing production in the mechanical manufacturing and mechanization sectors.
