1. Program Overview
1.1 General goal
Aim to impart knowledge, skills and ethics for resolving issues related to researching, designing, creating, operating, optimizing and maintaining machinery’s systems in Mechatronic Engineering, as well as being capable of delivering the needs that meet the demands of socio-economic development of Vietnam.
1.2 Program objectives, PO
Mechatronic Engineering program will equip students with the specific objectives (PO), as follows:
PO1: Being able to master and apply general knowledge, basic knowledge of mechanical engineering, and specialized knowledge of Mechatronic Engineering.
PO2: Being able to manage technology, design, manufacture, install, operate, build maintenance procedures, maintain systems, mechatronic devices.
PO3: Being able to do research, knowledge discovery, teamwork, communication, and international integration skills.
PO4: Having students possess professional ethics, social responsibility, an attitude to respect the law, the ability to grasp the trends of society, and a life-learning habit.
2. Output Standard
Students who graduate Mechatronic Engineering are required to comprehend the minimum competence Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) as follows:
2.1 Knowledge
2.1.1 General knowledge
PLO1: Applying basic knowledge of natural and social sciences to the field of Mechatronic Engineering, as follows:
- Having sufficient knowledge of natural sciences to serve as a solid foundation for receiving and studying of basic and specialized subjects.
- Having basic understanding of political and social ideas, as well as being healthy to work and contribute to the construction and defense of the country.
PLO2: Possessing a deep understanding of the fundamentals of Mechatronic Engineering, such as electric, electronic, engineering, and Information Technology (IT), as follows:
- Being able to apply knowledge from fundamental subjects (technical drawing, material & metal, introduction to electrical engineering, etc.) to resolve and acquire specific knowledge in Mechatronic Engineering.
- Understanding IT to do mechanical design, electronic circuit, as well as support other specific knowledge.
2.1.2 Professional knowledge
PLO3: Being able to calculate, design, create, and control mechatronic systems.
- Know how to design, and create mechanical parts for systems; and mechatronic components for modern machines.
- Have solid knowledge of designing, implementing electronic circuits, and programming the control system of automatic production lines and equipment.
PLO4: Being capable of operating, exploiting and maintaining mechatronic and automatic control systems.
- Being able to analyze, critique and evaluate the technical, and economic indicators of a specialized equipment system.
- Understanding of the general technical rules for maintenance, and repair for the whole system as well as for individual equipment.
- Being able to access and update specialized technical regulations.
2.2 Skills
2.2.1 Common Skills
PLO5: Being able to communicate effectively, work independently, and present professional issues scientifically.
PLO6: Being able to work independently or as a team; having leadership skill as well as encouraging the strength of an individual in the group.
PLO7: Being able use foreign language, expertise to collect information in studying, researching, and integrating into international labor market.
2.2.2 Professional Skills
PLO8: Being able to use mechanical techniques to manufacture, and assemble machine parts in detail following the process and technical requirements; designing, manufacturing electronic circuits, and programming automatic controls for mechatronic systems and devices.
PLO9: Using measuring devices, and sensors in the control of equipment systems.
PLO10: Knowing how to use and apply supporting software in mechanical engineering expertise such as mechanical drawing, simulation, experimental layout, experimental data processing, etc., to support designing, managing and evaluating the operation of specialized equipment systems.
2.3 Attitude
2.3.1 Awareness
PLO11: Forming the work ethics, awareness of environmental protection and responsibility in society as well as upgrading knowledge.
2.3.2 Behavior
PLO12: Compliance with the law, displaying professional manners and adaptation towards working environment.

Mechatronic Engineering program equips students with knowledge, skills, and capabilities to meet the demands of the nowadays diverse but also very professional labor market, graduates can fit in positions with suitable expertise such as:
- Working in consulting, designing equipment, machinery, mechanical system, electronics, mechatronic companies, high tech agricultural industry.
- Operator, maintainer in factory or automatic production lines.
- Instructing and doing research at research institutes and universities.
5. Study Capability and Upgrading Knowledge After Graduation
After completing the Mechatronic Engineering program, students can continue to do postgraduate in Mechatronic Engineering, and other slightly different fields domestically and internationally. Furthermore, students can also pursue other professional training courses held at home and abroad.
