1. Program Overview
1.1 General goal
Aim to impart knowledges, skills and ethics for resolving issues related to researching, designing, creating, operating, optimizing and maintaining machinery’s systems in Heat and Refrigeration, as well as being capable of delivering the needs that meet the demands of socio-economic development of Vietnam.
1.2 Program objectives, PO
Thermal Engineering Technology program will equip students with the specific objectives (PO), as follows:
PO1: Being able to master and apply general knowledge, basic knowledge of mechanical engineering, and specialized knowledge of thermal engineering.
PO2: Being able to technically reason, analysis, and evaluate skills; at the same time can manage technology, design, manufacture, install, operate, build maintenance procedures, maintain systems, heat - cold equipment.
PO3: Being able to do research, knowledge discovery, teamwork, communication, and international integration skills.
PO4: Having students possess professional ethics, social responsibility, an attitude to respect the law, the ability to grasp the trends of society, and a life-learning habit.
2. Output Standard
In addition to the requirement of work ethics, the attitude to comply with labor safety, the qualification of political theory, the knowledge of nation defense and security according to the current regulation, and being qualified in using Information Technology (IT) issued by Ministry of Information and Communication, students who graduates from Thermal Engineering are required to comprehend the minimum competence as follows:
2.1 Knowledge
Requirements about knowledge: possessing a deep understanding of theory in the field of training; having solid skills to solve complicated tasks, knowledge about fundamental principles, laws of nature, and society in the field of training, and being able to develop new ideas for further studying; having knowledge about management, administration, law and environment protection related to the field of training.
Based on the minimum requirements of knowledge that student needs to obtain after graduating, Thermal Engineering program particulates the knowledge into several output standards (PLOs) which are divided into two parts:
2.1.1 General knowledge
PLO1: Applying basic knowledge of natural and social sciences in in the field of Heat and Refrigeration.
PLO2: Being able to collect data and analyze the impact factors.
2.1.2 Professional knowledge
PLO3: Selecting and applying knowledge of mathematic, sciences, engineering and technology in the field of Heat and Refrigeration.
PLO4: Identifying, analyzing, evaluating in-depth and solving problems in the field of Heat and Refrigeration.
PLO5: Designing systems, building technical processes in the field of Heat and Refrigeration.
2.2 Skills
2.2.1 Common Skills
PLO6: Mastery of foreign language and IT in studying, working and doing researching.
PLO7: Teamwork and effective communication for tasks complement.
2.2.2 Professional Skills
PLO8: Using tools, equipment, applications and software in the field Heat and Refrigeration. Conducting experiments, explaining data and applying experimental results.
PLO9: Supervising, operating, maintaining and programing the control systems for chain, machines and equipment of Heat and Refrigeration.
PLO10: Summarizing, analyzing, evaluating and delivering major ideas during exploiting, operating and maintaining the Heat and Refrigeration’ s systems.
2.3 Attitude
2.3.1 Awareness
PLO11: Forming the work ethics, awareness of environmental protection and responsibility in society as well as upgrading knowledge.
2.3.2 Behavior
PLO12: Compliance with the law, displaying professional manners and adaptation towards working environment.

4. Career Opportunity:
Thermal Engineering program equips students with knowledge, skills, and capabilities to meet the demands of the nowadays diverse but also very professional labor market, graduates can fit in positions related to Heat and Refrigeration engineering such as:
- Designing, supervising, operating, maintaining, trading, ... at factories, and companies such as thermal power plants; food processing companies, agro-forestry, aquatic products, and seafood; construction and installation companies of mechanical and electrical systems; manufacturing, supplying, and installing refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment systems; industrial production plants such as petroleum, chemicals, textiles, ...; industrial and civil projects such as hotels, skyscrapers, airports...
- Instructing and doing research at research institutes and universities, as well as a start-up in the field of Heat and Refrigeration.
5. Study Capability and Upgrading Knowledge After Graduation
After completing the thermal engineering technology program, students can continue to do postgraduate in thermal engineering, and other slightly different fields domestically and internationally. Furthermore, students can also pursue other professional training courses held at home and abroad.
