ABSTRACT
Input factor of paddy moisture content (MC) significantly influences the processed rice quality as well as the economic effectiveness of rice production. The study results showed the effect of moisture factor (at two levels of 13-14% and 16-17%) on head rice and milling recovery in an 1-ton/hr rice processing system. The obtained results showed significant differences (at a confidence level, a = 5%) at the two MC levels on the compared output factors. Specifically, the head rice yield and the milling recovery of paddy samples with 13-14% MC were higher than that of samples with 16-17% MC, of which the differences between two treatments were 17.6% and 5.47% for head rice yield and milling recovery, respectively.
