The Organizing Committee is pleased to inform you that the International Workshop on Agricultural and Bio-systems Engineering will be held at Nong Lam University, Hochiminh city, Vietnam on December 2nd- 3rd, 2011. This workshop is co-organized by Nong Lam University, the Kyushu Branch of JSAM (Japanese Society of Agricultural Machinery), Mie University (Japan) and Sung Kyung Kwan University (Korea) andmainly sponsored by The Viet Nam Ministry of Education and Training.
It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the IWABEand present papers of your most recent works. The IWABE will provide a venue for ideas exchanges and information on the current research and technology developments in the field of Agricultural and Bio-systems Engineering. Our hope is to bring fruitful meeting for all participants and also to facilitate an enjoyable visit in Hochiminh City.

CALL FOR PAPERS
All participants who wish to present papers are requested to submit abstracts to the organizing committee by June 15th, 2011. The abstract should be less than 500 words and include the title of the paper, authors, objectives and results. The papers accepted for presentation at the IWABE will be notified to their authors by July 15th, 2011. The authors of the accepted papers should submit their manuscripts by October 15th, 2011. The manuscript format will be sent to the authors of the accepted papers.
Papers for either oral or poster presentations are called for the following subjects:
1. Farm power and machinery
2. Post harvest technology
3. Bio-energy and alternative energy
4. Agricultural informatics and Precision Agriculture
5. Bio-mechatronics and Robotics in Agriculture
6. Related issues (Policy, Management…)
LANGUAGE
The official language of the IWABE will be English.

REGISTRATION
All participants and accompanying persons should register for the IWABE. Advance registration is recommended and must be accepted by e-mail or fax on or before October 31st, 2011. After that, you are requested to register on-site with the on-site registration fee. Registration fee includes the proceedings, parties, field trip and coffee breaks during the workshop.
When you are registered with your payment, the General Secretary/contact person will send a confirmation notice via e-mail. If no confirmation is made in two weeks after you have registered, please contact Secretary / Contact Person

CANCELLATION
Cancellation must be made by a written letter to Contact person. Registration fee will be full refunded if the cancellation is made before October 31st, 2011. 50% will be refunded until November 30th, 2011 and no refund will be made after December 1st, 2011.

TRANSPORTATION
All participants registered will be picked up by organization committee’s car from your hotels to Nong Lam University during the time of the workshop. The transportation from Tan Son Nhat International Airport to hotels is provided by the airport taxi service at the rate of USD 10 from the airport to HCMC downtown.

CURRENCY
The Vietnam currency is “đồng” (VND). One US dollar is approximately equal to 20 000 VND in April, 2011. You may visit the homepage of the Vietnam Exchange Bank to check the current exchange rate.
